Scrappy Spring Tulips Baby Quilt

Available size – 42″ by 42″

My good friend, Marie (http://chestnutsquilting.com/) , made this quilt for a baby that is on the way.    She wanted smaller baby blocks and wanted it less than 44″ wide so she didn’t have to piece the back.  The new block size is 11″  (the original is 16″).    I love it.  The grandmother died recently and the fabric is from her stash so this is a very sentimental quilt.

  2. Hello Cindy,

Thank you again for sharing your pattern to make this quilt. We love it! The baby is still “on the way” but the quilt has found its new home.

    All the best to you,
    Susi

  3. Hi Susi,
Good to hear from you and to know a little more about this baby quilt. Quilting is a very special way to help people out. I am sure that the baby granddaughter will really treasure this one.

  4. Cindy,
Thank you for sharing your work with us. Your designs, patterns, and work is very beautiful, truly.

I am the lady working with Marie. I am making the quilt for my best friend, who lost her mother, Jan, last spring. Jan was an avid quilter, so when she died I set out to share her fabrics with other artists.

Shortly after Jan’s death, my friend learned that she was expecting a baby. This little tulip quilt is being made on Jan’s behalf for her baby granddaughter. We will be using your pattern, and all the love that this delightful art form brings in it’s community. As for me, I hope that this first in a long series of quilts I produce. Quilting is new to me, but the sharing part touches a belief in me that runs deep.

    Thank you.

    Susi
